This week in Digital Journalism II, we were to do a follow up assignment on our One at Marquette projects. In this assignment, I talked with Vicki Frami about her role as a student supervisor at the Brew Cafes on Marquette University's campus. I recorded the interview with a digital audio recorder and matched it with photographs from the previous project.
Although I have worked with editing software before, this was my first time using a digital audio recorder that was't my iPhone, and an editing software that wasn't iMovie. Instead, I had a chance to experiment with Audacity, an audio editing program, and SoundSlides, an interesting, yet temperamental video making program.
Using the guidelines from Poynter's NewsU program Telling Stories with Sound, I was able to take a simple photo slideshow and make it personal. Using the tips from Marquette University's Associate Vice Provost for Educational Technology Jon Pray, I was able to make the story directly form Frami herself, come to life.
