This week I edited and posted my new Storify about my experience at the Al McGuire Center as the Golden Eagles took on Seton Hall November 18. Although I was alone on this live-tweeting experience, I was able to hone my skills when it came to making sure to include the proper information while still maintaining audience interest.
The experience of walking into the Al McGuire not knowing how many people were going to show up, or even read my tweets was nerve racking. My biggest fear was getting complaints for consuming people's Twitter feeds. This was my second Storify live-tweeting venture since the inauguration of Marquette's 23rd president, Father Scott Pilarz, and I think the previous experience helped tremendously.
Mid-semester I also took advantage of live-tweeting the question and answer session with Fr. Pilarz in the Alumni Memorial Union, which I also found to be a rewarding experience for my tweeting skills. Although I'm not the biggest sports fan on campus, I found this experience a great introduction into the world of sports journalism.
