Just yesterday my Digital Journalism professor Herbert Lowe mentioned me in his blog posting about the advancements being made for smartphones that can ultimately have an impact on the way journalists do their jobs.
A recent update to the Mac OS software has allowed users to tweet with greater convenience, allowing direct tweeting from the site your visiting. After downloading the Twitter app from the Apple AppStore, with a simple right-click, users are able to select "tweet" from the menu bar.
Here's a simple how-to, when it comes to using your technology to benefit your journalism:
If you haven't already, restart your Mac and install the latest updates, the AppStore should appear in your menu bar:

After opening the AppStore, a quick search for "Twitter Inc." should do the trick:
You want to install the Twitter app using your Apple log in information:
From there you can open the application and begin tweeting, just like you would directly on the site itself, or use the feature to "Tweet" directly from a website by selecting the text you want and right-click:
By clicking "Tweet," the information is sent directly to the Twitter application you just downloaded, and you are now free to share anything and everything with your friends by the click of a button:
